01How updates arrive
The OSM X1 receives updates over the air. They download in the background and apply on the next restart, so most people never see one happen. Security patches and app compatibility fixes arrive the same way.
- 1Open Settings, then System, then About.
- 2Select System update to check immediately.
- 3Leave the box powered while it installs. An interrupted update is the one way to leave it in a state that needs a service centre.
02Support window
We commit to security updates for the lifetime of the two year warranty at minimum, and in practice keep shipping them for longer. Feature updates depend on what the platform supports.
Updates are cumulative. A box that has been unplugged for a year will download one larger package rather than every intermediate release.
