Introducing the OSM X1 Pro

The OSM X1 Pro is the X1 with 8GB of DDR4 memory instead of 4GB. Storage stays at 128GB, and everything else is shared: the same quad-core platform, the same 4K HDR10+ output, Wi-Fi 6, the same 106mm chassis, the same voice remote and the same two-year warranty.

Memory is what decides how many apps stay open in the background. With more of it, switching between a streaming service, a sports app and YouTube is instant, because nothing has to reload from scratch.

The extra memory pays off for a specific kind of household: people who keep many apps open at once, sideload applications outside Google Play, or share the box between several profiles that each run their own apps.

If you watch one or two services and rarely switch, the standard X1 has all the memory you need and costs less. Streaming apps themselves are small; it is keeping many of them open at once that uses memory.
