Set up your OSM X1 in five minutes

Everything you need is in the box: the OSM X1, the voice remote, two AAA batteries, a high-speed HDMI cable and the DC 12V power adapter. You will also need a television with a free HDMI port and a Wi-Fi network or an Ethernet cable.

1. 1Slide the two AAA batteries into the remote, matching the polarity marks inside the compartment.
2. 2Connect the HDMI cable from the OSM X1 to a free HDMI port on your television. Note which port number you used.
3. 3If you are using a wired network, plug an Ethernet cable into the LAN port. Wired is optional — Wi-Fi works for 4K.
4. 4Connect the power adapter to the DC 12V socket, then to the wall. The front LED lights blue.
5. 5Switch the television to the HDMI input you used. The OSM logo appears within about fifteen seconds.

1. 1Pick your language, then hold the remote within a metre of the box when prompted so it pairs over Bluetooth.
2. 2Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password, or skip this step if you connected over Ethernet.
3. 3Sign in with your Google account so the Play Store and voice search work. You can skip it and sign in later from Settings.
4. 4Accept the display settings when the box detects your television's resolution and HDR capability.
5. 5Install your streaming apps from the Play Store, or restore them from another Android device when offered.

That is the whole setup. If the screen stays black at step four of the previous section, work through the HDMI checks in the troubleshooting guide before assuming a fault.
